"Capital work, a landmark in the history of reproduction of master drawings, is included in this catalogue as an important forerunner of later publications ... it contains pastoral, mythological, and biblical subjects. They are all printed in warm bustre colour to aid the resemblance" (Abbey). "Neu ist bei ihm die ungewöhnliche Feinheit des Mezzotintogrundes und die Anwendung einer aus Kupferätzung und Schabkunst kombinierten Mischtechnik" (Thieme-B. X, 283 zu Earlom). – Leicht gebräuntes, nur hin und wieder in den Rändern etwas braunfleckiges Exemplar in repräsentativem, dekorativem Einband.
